In a nutshell, I have listed all the councils in Scotland and how many employees each council have who do nothing but union activity.

There was a shortage of food during the 1960s prompting the then Prime Minster, Lal Bahadur Shastri, to the appeal to people to forego food once a week. They did obey his genuine appeal. The level of poverty and hunger has multiplied several-fold in the last five decades, so much so that India ranks 66th among 88 countries in the hunger index. A loud warning bell has been sounded by Ban-Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the global food crisis. The failure of the World Food Summit held in Rome in November 2009 was unfortunate. It showed the least concern of many governments to the serious problem of food crisis and hunger around the world.

The change in the blog format was simply to demonstrate the kind of format we want for a website and just to gage the reaction and to see if we can get some help in setting it up.
Blogger could never host a decent site as it doesn't have the graphic tools to make it look good and as a result will always look amateurish. We cant even seperate the sections using enclosed boxes and so everything looks mixed up and without definition.
We've had some financial offers of assistance but I don't have a bank account so we need someone we trust with a paypal account to set up a donate button and collect donations and pay for the hosting. It's only about £4 a month but without that we can't do anything. so please get in touch if you can help with this.
I want to stress that this project is completely voluntary and not for profit and any money left over will go towards advertising. Not one single penny will go into anyones pockets.
Unfortunately we have a problem. One of the initial contributors set up a uknewsnetwork.com and .co.uk site but then froze the rest of us out of it and won't reply to emails and is posting 'news' so we have lost the name and will have to think of a new one. Any ideas?

Goldman Sachs accused of fraud
The US government's financial watchdog alleges that Goldman Sachs misled investors by failing to disclose conflicts of interest in mortgage investments it sold as the housing market was faltering.
The SEC announced it had lodged civil fraud charges against the company and one of its vice presidents - news that sent stock markets worldwide reeling.
London's FTSE 100 Index plunged 1.4% in reaction, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average in America fell more than 160 points at one stage.

Crowds cheer bomb disposal experts
They heartily deserve it. I've worked alongside a Royal Engineers Bomb disposal group and have the highest respect for what they do.
Thousands of people welcomed home 200 bomb disposal experts lauded as heroes for their work in Afghanistan.
The soldiers from the Counter Improvised Explosive Device Task Force (C-IED) were cheered as they marched through the streets of Didcot, Oxfordshire.
The small town came to a standstill for the parade, with shops closing their doors and local firefighters standing outside their station to pay silent tribute to the returning soldiers.
The unit has suffered heavy casualties, with the loss of seven men on this tour.

Teachers vote for tests boycott
Teachers have overwhelmingly backed a boycott of Sats tests, setting them on a collision course with a new government.
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) have been balloting members involved in the administration of the tests - including headteachers, deputies and assistant heads - for the past month.
According to the results, 74.9% of NUT members who voted were in favour of a boycott, as were 61.3% of NAHT members who voted. Turnout for the NUT's ballot was 33.8% and for the NAHT it was 49.7%.

This has been confirmed by Seargent Adam Bulger of Warrington Police, who refused to address my concerns over Robert’s safety, despite my pointing out that he has gone back to the very courts that he has made allegations about.
